How do I use my HDTV (crt) as a PC monitor?

My TV is a http://www.samsung.com/products/tv/archi... it have , svga, rca, s-video and a DVI-D inputs. My TV manual say it can not be used as a monitor. I understand that a computer crt monitor and a TV do not speak equal language (so to speak) My Computer does not enjoy a video card. The graphics card is NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R)4TM MX graphics (1 AGP 8x slot available) I don't know if that information is needed. Does a video card convert the PC signals to work on a TV? Or do I also need some type of converter? Thanks

Answer:

Yes and No.

Yes, you can run a signal from your computer on your TV but it will not hold the same resolution, worth the picture will be grainy. You can try it. It won't hurt.

No, you do not stipulation a converter. ATI cards have this ability now.

You voice your computer does not have a video card and consequently you say Nvidia ge force etc... Either it is built into your motherboard or Nvidia is the graphics card.
Unless your pictographic card has an S-video or some other unusual looking serial-ish kinda port, and your tv has S-video (which i reflect it probably does) then it can not transpire

Since your TV is HD, then resolution shouldnt be an issue, because it should be capable of make the resolution better.

I will look at your illustrative card, and your tv tho and see if i can answer this. i just considered necessary to be first answerererer :)

there is more than 1 NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R)4TM MX graphics. which one do you hold? http://www.nvidia.com/page/geforce4mx.ht...
