how do you hook up a laptop to an alternate eyeshade?

I'm have screen problems and someone suggested I hook my computer up to another monitor, but how do you do that? I own a tv that has the capability to be used as a computer moniter but I do not know what cord goes where on earth & will any video card issues mess the screen up?

Answer:

Your display option depend on the types of output connections offered by your laptop. Instead of giving you a long-winded response, let me preserve it simple.

1. Look for a square-shaped plug somewhere on your laptop. It'll have a few rows of holes for pins. This is a VGA output connector.

2. Next, clutch any computer monitor you can find and connect the monitor cable (usually has a blue end) into the connector on your laptop.

3. Turn on your laptop and turn on the monitor.

In most cases, the monitor will muted up immediately and "mirror" the display of your laptop. If this is the suitcase, you can close the lid and use the monitor as your new display.

There are lots of other option you could explore such as connecting to a TV (not recommended unless it's an HDTV b/c picture quality will be horrible). You could also look into getting your eyeshade on your laptop fixed but that's always expensive and you'd prolly be better past its sell-by date getting a new laptop earlier you entertain that risk.

Good luck.
