I enjoy my laptop hooked up to my PC monitor and it just extends to the other side by side. Plug within you're extra monitor to your PC or monitor. Just right click on the screen and click on properties, after click on the settings tab. Next you'll see a 1 and 2 monitor click on the 2 then within the bottom you'll se a "extend my window desktop monitor to this monitor" way out.
